Experience music never played or recorded before! World premieres of music by Jordan Berg, Rolf Boon, Amy Brandon, Sonny-Ray Day Rider, Scott Edward Godin, Lavinia Kell Parker, Arlan N. Schultz, and D. Andrew Stewart, along with the performances of music by Kelly-Marie Murphy and Patrick Roux
CANADIAN ENSEMBLES COMING TOGETHER
Appearing will be award-winning Canadian ensembles: the Quasar Saxophone Quartet (Montreal) and the Cicchillitti and Cowan Guitar Duo, or CC Duo (Moncton, Montreal). Joined by artists from Southern Alberta: 14 strings, including the Musaeus String Quartet, conducted by Holly De Caigny, as well as composer and internationally known karlax digital instrumentalist, D. Andrew Stewart.
WHERE POWWOW RHYTHMS BRING THE STREETS TO LIFE
At 5:30PM, on 25 September, and beginning in front of the Empress Theatre/Cinema, the streets of downtown Fort Macleod come alive as a dynamic, outdoor musical stage for Drum Grid: A Sonic Journey with A’sitapiiksi. Join the A’sitapiiksi Young People Powwow Club, Coaldale Prairie Winds Drum Line, and dancer Sandra Lamouche, for this unique outdoor dance and soundscape, originally created by Navajo (Diné) composer Raven Chacon.
