
New Music Lethbridge AB (LAB) presents Unfamiliar Trails Coming Together, featuring the world premieres of music by Jordan Berg, Rolf Boon, Amy Brandon, Sonny-Ray Day Rider, Scott Edward Godin, Lavinia Kell Parker, Arlan N. Schultz, and D. Andrew Stewart, along with the performances of music by Kelly-Marie Murphy and Patrick Roux.
Unfamiliar Trails launches at the SALT New Music Festival and Symposium in Victoria on 19 September and concludes at the University of Lethbridge Centre for the Arts on 26 September. In between, we stop in Fort Macleod, on 25 September, for an adaptation of the outdoor soundscape work, Drum Grid, by First Nations, Diné, composer Raven Chacon, led by the A’sitapiiksi (Young People) Powwow Club and Coaldale Prairie Winds Drum Line. On 25 September, the day ends with a concert at the iconic Fort Macleod Empress Theatre/Cinema.
Come experience the music, performed by renowned ensembles: Quasar Saxophone Quartet (Montreal), Cicchillitti and Cowan guitar duo (Moncton/Montreal), and the Musaeus String Quartet (Lethbridge).
